BUYING GUIDE

We have created a user-friendly buying guide to help you if you are buying a diamond or ring for the first time. Our guide will give you all the information you need to choose the right diamond, including factors that affect quality and value.

Diamonds

Diamonds are a naturally occurring gemstone known for their hardness and resilience. Diamonds are graded by the “4Cs”: carat weight, color, clarity and cut. Diamonds are a popular gift for special occasions, such as engagements and weddings, and it is important to understand the factors that affect their quality and price.

Carat

Carat is a unit used to measure the weight of diamonds and other gemstones. Many people think that carat equals the size of the diamond, but this is not true – it only describes the weight of the diamond.

Clarity

Clarity is an important factor that describes the quality of a diamond. It refers to the number of defects and the type of inclusions, as well as where they are located in the diamond. Clarity is graded on a scale that goes from “Internally Flawless” (IF) and down, where the clarity of the diamond is judged based on the amount and type of inclusions.

Certificate

All our larger and natural diamonds are delivered with a certificate issued by the well-respected GIA. GIA stands for high quality and their assessments are highly respected in the diamond industry. We always strive to deliver the highest quality products to our customers and the certificate from GIA is proof of this.

Grinding quality

Cut is one of the most important factors that affects the beauty and price of a diamond. It describes how well the different facets are cut in relation to each other. A well-cut diamond reflects light in a way that makes it sparkle and shine beautifully. A diamond with a poor cut can look dull and lifeless, even if it has a high carat weight or clarity.

Paint

Color is one of the most important factors that affect the quality and price of a diamond. It describes the hue of a colorless diamond, i.e. how warm or cool the tone is. A white or translucent diamond can have a color scale from D (colorless) to Z (yellowish). The more colorless a diamond is, the more valuable it is.
